Elise & Chris were such a relaxed and easy going couple!
They booked as their Wedding MC & DJ after Chris’s sister Michelle booked me for their wedding quite a few years ago, back in 2012 I think….
I headed out to their house to sit down and have a chat about what I offered, as my style and service has changed alot since then – and then after meeting with them they were happy to go ahead and book me for their wedding day.
They were so relaxed the entire day. I think that was really their nature, and tone throughout the day/evening – and just wanted everyone to enjoy themselves with no specific plan or order of events – but just wing it on the day. They decided to host their wedding at their home, in Ipswich, out at Barellen Point. Their home was beautiful. Their backyard wedding overlooking the river, with a Marquee Tent popped up near the ceremony for guests to later sit down and relax made for a perfect night.
Inside, was Tables & Chairs for everyone to sit down, there was even a Kids Station for them to do some drawing & activities while the Mums & Dads relax.
The Ceremony service was beautiful! Russell the Celebrant/Pastor delivered a really nice throughout the afternoon with stories & references, along with that it was perfect weather, and a very nice long runway for the girls to walk down with eyes on Elise and how amazing she looked!
They headed off to get some photos not long after the Ceremony while guests mingled and chatted around and started to make their way in and get seated. I worked with the caters to make sure they were aware of times, and when food needed to come out as well. I also helped out and put some of the chairs from the ceremony into the Marquee so that people had seats to sit on!
The food was so good we even had a PEACOCK come out and join us randomly. I had to shoo it away, that was fun.
We even had a Sparkler Entrance for the Bride & Groom upon their entry as I got guests lined up with their sparklers lit (a bit of precision timing I must say) with the Photographer too, and on they came inside with lots of cheering and screaming!
The rest of the night was just really chilled. Moving around the tables and talking to everyone – I occasionally stepped in to let guests know when to get some food, or when we were going to have speeches. Actually the Best Man’s speech was really funny. So many little jokes and references there. Poor Chris – felt like a bit of a roast! Haha.
I even put some of my up lights up near the trees to add a bit of color as well instead of the dull black shadows around the marquee. The fairy lights made for a really nice atmosphere on the dance floor too.
After speeches & dessert, we had some dancing outside on the grass with the night slowly coming to a close at 10:00pm.
